About us

Founded in 2012 and rebranded in 2022 as Stark Electronics, we are a team of vastly experienced electrical engineers, physics engineers, mechanical engineers and software developers. We have the experience to handle the most complex of electrical engineering challenges for vehicles and specialised machines. Our clients come to us because they want the smallest, lightest, fastest and most reliable solutions available.

We produce both hardware and software because we believe that is the best way to create truly optimal systems. Located in Zagreb, Croatia, Stark Electronics HQ features R&D labs and pre production facilities, as well as the production facilities building thousands of complete electrical powertrains.

At Stark Electronics our team is encouraged to express their creativity. We want people to maximize their ability for growth and learning about new technologies. We have a positive, friendly atmosphere in our team, working at the epicentre of an industry that is growing exponentially.
We are partners of the highly respected electric motorcycle manufacturers Stark Future, based in Barcelona, Spain. Together with Stark Future’s founders and engineering team, we built the powertrain, battery, VCU and smartphone dashboard for the game-changing 80hp Stark VARG electric motocross bike.

Meet the team

FOUNDER / CEO

MARIJA KRPAN

Marija is the CEO of Stark Electronics and an electrical engineer by trade. She started her career in the mining industry, designing and developing inverters. She founded Cognitio Elektronika in 2012 and has driven the company’s growth over a decade to become a market leader in supplying the electric vehicle industry. Marija also oversaw the company’s rebrand to become Stark Electronics in 2022.

FOUNDER / CTO

MARKO KIČINBAČI

Marko is a mechanical engineer with more than 15 years of experience. He started his career in the mineral extraction industry designing specialised machines for mining and firefighting. With a wealth of electrical engineering knowledge, he is the CTO of Stark Electronics, with his responsibilities including the improvement and optimization of the company’s technological processes.

DANIJELA JOVANOVIĆ

With a master’s degree in economics Danijela started her career in finance. Seeking new challenges she gained further experience in event organization, marketing and linguistics. Danijela is the Chief Commercial Officer of Stark Electronics and is responsible for driving new and recurring revenues for the company.

HEAD OF PRODUCTION

MARIO B FRAĆIN

Mario is a mechanical engineer specializing in mechatronics and robotics. He has started his career in developing automated systems using PLCs and preparing necessary project documentation for EU grants. At Stark Electronics he is in charge of the entire production process from creating project documentation and procurement to final assembly and quality control. Working closely with the electrical design team he also develops and implements new production processes.

FOUNDER / HEAD OF R&D

FRAN DAMIR SABOLIĆ

Fran has over 30 years of experience in engineering. He has started his career as a physics engineer. Expanding his field of interest, he then switched to the steel rolling industry as a process automation engineer in the USA. After moving to Croatia, he joined the mining industry and focused on motor controller design. For over four decades he has been a highly enthusiastic motorbike rider, so in recent years he has directed his expertise to electric drive development in the motorcycle industry.

HEAD OF SOFTWARE DESIGN

TINO JERČIĆ

Tino has been working as an electrical engineer for over 10 years. From his first job as an electrical engineering tutor at the University of Zagreb he then moved to Volvo in Gothenburg, where he worked as a Motor Drive Systems Verification Engineer. Tino also has a PHD in electric powertrains. He has significant knowledge of both software and hardware design and works on the creation of complete electric powertrains at Stark Electronics.

HEAD OF HARDWARE DESIGN

IVICA PLETIKOSA

Ivica started his career at Futavis GmbH in Germany, designing and developing battery management systems for the automotive industry. He has always had a strong interest in electric motion. At Stark Electronics, Ivica has used his expertise to design and develop not only battery systems, but also entire electric powertrains.
